Management skills for motivated engineers

Management skills for motivated engineers

Published: 07/04/2016

In April the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) is running its annual course to help engineers develop their leadership and project management skills in order to competently progress to management level. The course, run in partnership with the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (IOM3) and the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), is being held between 20 and 22 April 2016 at the University of Warwick in Coventry.

The Essential Management Skills for Engineers course gives attendees the opportunity to meet other engineers and develop skills to become a competent engineering manager. The weekend can support Chartership applications and includes workshops, site visits, presentations and interactive challenges. Attendees are usually developing and motivated engineers looking to progress into a management position, but also first-time managers, supervisors, team leaders, project managers, change managers and project engineers.
