The Young Engineering Professionals Conference is a one day, free annual event for over 100 young professionals from a range of UK businesses. It focuses on the future of engineering, promoting multi-disciplinary working to reach shared goals. This year the conference is being held on 28 April at the Institution for Engineering and Technology (IET), Savoy Place, London, between 9am and 3.30pm.
Topics cover the societal challenges facing the engineering sector including exploring, with other engineers present, how the Internet of Things might resolve various aspects through the use of smart cities, smart health, smart transport and energy efficiency. There will also be opportunities to interact with other engineers on career and professional issues. The event is being run by the British Standards Institution (BSI), in partnership with IET and trade associations BEAMA (British Electrotechnical and Allied Manufacturers' Association) and GAMBICA.
