The personal data we collect will be used to send you copies of our digital newsletters and other related email communications, specifically those for which you explicitly subscribe.

The Engineering Council does not collect or process special categories of personal data or sensitive data such as race, ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, trade union membership, etc.

By consenting to this privacy notice, you are giving the Engineering Council permission to process your personal data specifically for the purposes identified above. You may withdraw consent for this purpose at any time by using the “unsubscribe” button on any of our digital newsletters, or by contacting the Engineering Council’s Data Protection Lead.
Sharing your data
The Engineering Council will not pass on your personal data to any other organisation.
Retention
The Engineering Council will process your personal data for as long as you subscribe. When you unsubscribe, we will delete your contact information for the specific newsletter or communications you have requested. This may take up to one calendar month to take effect.

- Right of access – you have the right to request a copy of the personal data that we hold about you.
- Right to rectification – you have a right to correct personal data that we hold about you that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Right to erasure – in certain circumstances you can ask for the personal data we hold about you to be erased from our records.

- Right to data portability – you have the right to have the personal data we hold about you transferred to another organisation.

If we receive a request from you to exercise any of the above rights, we may forward them on as appropriate to any third party involved (as listed above) in the processing of your personal data.
